News operation[ edit ] WCBS-TV presently broadcasts 33 hours, 5 minutes of locally produced newscasts each week with 5 hours, 5 minutes on weekdays, 3 hours, 5 minutes on Saturdays and 4 hours, 35 minutes on Sundays. Also, available are streamlined editions of the noon, 5 and 6, and the 11 p. When the two stations broadcast a statewide office debate, such as for Governor or United States Senate , they will pool resources and have anchors or reporters from both stations participate in the debate. Additionally, the two stations cooperate in the gathering of news in New Jersey where their markets overlap; sharing reporters, live trucks and helicopters. Most of the newscasts featured Hubbell reading a script with only occasional cutaways to a map or still photograph. The national emergency even broke down the unspoken wall between CBS radio and television. WCBW executives convinced radio announcers and experts such as George Fielding Elliot and Linton Wells to come down to the Grand Central Station studios during the evening and give information and commentary on the attack.
Hmmm, I wonder why! But I would like to put it on before I leave for work in the morning so it has time to simmer. I recommend putting it on the low setting. I hope you enjoy it! I live a little over an hour away from Plattsburgh NY.

Disciplines concerned with reconstructing ice sheets have rapidly expanded. Abstract Reconstructing the growth and decay of palaeo-ice sheets is critical to understanding mechanisms of global climate change and associated sea-level fluctuations in the past, present and future. The significance of palaeo-ice sheets is further underlined by the broad range of disciplines concerned with reconstructing their behaviour, many of which have undergone a rapid expansion since the s.
In particular, there has been a major increase in the size and qualitative diversity of empirical data used to reconstruct and date ice sheets, and major improvements in our ability to simulate their dynamics in numerical ice sheet models. These developments have made it increasingly necessary to forge interdisciplinary links between sub-disciplines and to link numerical modelling with observations and dating of proxy records. The aim of this paper is to evaluate recent developments in the methods used to reconstruct ice sheets and outline some key challenges that remain, with an emphasis on how future work might integrate terrestrial and marine evidence together with numerical modelling.
Our focus is on pan-ice sheet reconstructions of the last deglaciation, but regional case studies are used to illustrate methodological achievements, challenges and opportunities. Whilst various disciplines have made important progress in our understanding of ice-sheet dynamics, it is clear that data-model integration remains under-used, and that uncertainties remain poorly quantified in both empirically-based and numerical ice-sheet reconstructions.
The representation of past climate will continue to be the largest source of uncertainty for numerical modelling. As such, palaeo-observations are critical to constrain and validate modelling. State-of-the-art numerical models will continue to improve both in model resolution and in the breadth of inclusion of relevant processes, thereby enabling more accurate and more direct comparison with the increasing range of palaeo-observations.
Thus, the capability is developing to use all relevant palaeo-records to more strongly constrain deglacial and to a lesser extent pre-LGM ice sheet evolution.

Woolley5 Show more https: The largest plutons consist of syenite and peralkaline granite, with somewhat smaller intrusions consisting of syenite, nepheline syenite and sodalite syenite. Apatite fission-track ages and confined track-length measurements in apatite were determined in order to develop a thermal model for the Chilwa Province. Nepheline syenites and syenites were intruded at ca Ma followed by the emplacement of large syenite-peralkaline granite plutons at ca Ma.
The geochronology suggests that there was a temporal variation in the chemistry of the magmas forming the Chilwa plutons. Apatite fission-track ages and track-length measurements indicate that the intrusions were emplaced at high level shallow burial depths and cooled relatively rapidly to near ambient temperatures.
